How to connect with the Creatrix Archetype

Ever wonder how you could access the most divine, creative, feminine, deep, knowing, magnificent part of yourself?

Are you ever looking for answers devoid of the patriarchal, capitalist noise?

Have you ever thought: I know deep down inside me I have all the secrets but I don't know how to access them?

If so, I highly recommend trying to access the Creatrix. You don't need to make a mask like me; you can draw, write, ask a question, dance, mediate and/or create anything you want. The Creatrix inside of us offers the gift of creativity, time and freedom to do whatever we want, when we want, without judging outside perspectives. She is truly FREE and WILD. She is the life-giving force, the energetic flow of birth, death and rebirth. The Creatrix tells you it's okay to just -go for it and to create from a deep-centered place, to be messy, to not care if you are going to sell or not sell, to make what she is calling you to make.

She asks:

If you weren't thinking of selling, what would be the first thing you would make?

If you had all the money and time in the world, what would you create?

What are you afraid of creating?

Can you trust yourself in making mistakes?

What happens if you get messy in the process?

Is it ok if no one likes this thing you made, even if you love it?

Tell me your deepest darkest secret.

I truly believe that when we find symbolism through the spiritual and creative act, we find ourselves more clearly and we follow our OWN path, not the one laid upon us by our family, peers, culture or society. We get to make our own rules and live truly free within that all-knowing place.

How to find symbolism behind the Creatrix Archetype

Part of my process includes but is not limited to:

1. Set up space: have a journal handy, light candles, put on meditation music, a chalice or cup that you fill with water to make an offering to your creative self.

2. Take a second to thank yourself for giving yourself the time, and energy and wanting to know your personal mythology a little bit better.

3. Mediation. Breathe in breathe out, clear mind, connect with body let mind wander and bring it back to the body.

4. Next focus on the word Creatrix and find where it seems to live in your body.

5. From that space, let the word and meaning of the world evoke feelings

6. Let these feelings evoke a colour, a person, a symbol.

7. Let yourself be transported by the Creatrix archetype. Ask yourself, what does this archetype do, think, how do they help the world, inform you? How can Creatrix help? What does Creatrix want from you vs what it needs from you?

8. Thank Creatrix and come back to the body.

9. Write everything you saw, felt and learnt. What colours were the most present? Where were you? Be as detailed as you can. Repeat as needed to uncover more subconscious secrets !!

I saw my Creatrix as a mixture of flowers, blood and bones. She felt soft, a little scary and incredibly powerful. I interpreted these symbols as the life-giving force of our body and the beauty that is Creation. To me, Creatrix is gooey, of the body and the earth, wise and gentle. After I made this mask, I came back to it when I felt unsure about my next creative steps. Surprisingly, she answered every single question with ease and assurance. I hope you can take a little time to connect with this aspect of yourself. Feel free to ask any and all questions.

Best,

Juno
